Application Timeline: Most ESTA applications are approved within 3 Business Days under the standard processing timeframe. However, if you choose priority processing, your application will be processed within 3 hours of submission, and you’ll typically receive your ESTA approval or result within 24 hours or less. Please note that in rare cases, it may take longer, as final approval depends on the U.S. government’s internal checks and decisions.
Important: Do not leave your application to the last minute. Apply at least 72 hours before your U.S. departure.
One Form per Person: Each ESTA is for one individual only. If you’re traveling with family or children under 18, you must submit separate applications for each person.
ESTA Validity & Entry Rules: An approved ESTA allows stays in the U.S. for up to 90 days and is valid for 2 years, or until your passport expires (whichever comes first).
Note: U.S. border officials can still deny entry, especially if they suspect ESTA misuse (e.g., entering and exiting the country too often).
Privacy Notice: All information submitted is used solely by U.S. authorities to process your ESTA. It will not be shared with third parties.
Frequently Asked Questions
Traveling with children and minors with the U.S. ESTA?
Every traveler, including children and infants, must have their own approved ESTA. Parents or legal guardians can complete the application on behalf of minors. When traveling with children—especially if they are unaccompanied or accompanied by someone other than their legal guardian—additional documentation such as parental consent letters or custody proof may be requested by U.S. Customs and Border Protection upon arrival.
Who doesn't need to apply for the U.S. ESTA?
You do not need to apply for ESTA if you are:
• A U.S. citizen or U.S. national
• A lawful permanent resident (Green Card holder)
• A traveler entering with a valid U.S. visa
• A Canadian or Bermudian citizen (for most short visits — specific rules apply)
• Traveling by land from Canada or Mexico (different entry procedures apply)
ESTA is only required for eligible nationals of Visa Waiver Program countries traveling by air or sea.
